Learn about the top seven places to visit and what makes them special in this travel video. If you're brave enough, walk across the Capilano Suspension Bridge, which hangs over two hundred feet above the Capilano River. Vancouver is a city for people who like to be out and about, whether for relaxation, shopping, or exercise. In the summer, Kitsilano Beach is where Vancouverites go to unwind. It’s a little too cold for serious swimming, but the heated saltwater Kitsilano Pool makes up for that. For shopping, Robson Street is where you’ll find the best grouping of high end labels and chain stores, but Vancouver has a lot more variety to offer as well. Visit Granville Island for the eclectic charm and the Granville Island Public Market, where you’ll find the best in local art, crafts, and food. Vancouver is also a nature-lover’s paradise, with the North Shore offering easy access to hiking and skiing on Grouse Mountain. Or if you’re brave enough, walk across the Capilano Suspension Bridge, which hangs over two hundred feet above the Capilano River. If you’d rather stay closer to the city, get your nature fix in Stanley Park, which is minutes from the downtown and offers amazing views from the seawall and Prospect Point. Stanley Park is massive, but it’s far from the only place to see some greenery in Vancouver. Take a tour of the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Chinese Garden, the first Ming Dynasty-style garden to be built outside of China. Or explore the Nitobe Memorial Garden, which is considered one of the most authentic Japanese gardens outside of Japan. Whatever you do in Vancouver, you’re sure to leave feeling refreshed and re-energized.

https://www.expedia.com/Vancouver.d178315.Destination-Travel-Guides Vancouver’s breezes carry the scents of nature and aromas of all the urban delights you’d expect from a city regularly voted, “the Worlds most livable”. The city takes its name from the British navigator who landed here in 1792. The original settlement was called “Gastown”, in honor of Gassy Jack, who built the city’s first tavern. Gassy Jack and his makeshift pub may be long gone, but in the historic neighborhood of Gastown, his spirit lingers on. Vancouver’s early history continues at Waterfront Station, the western terminus of the Canadian Pacific Railway. The railway’s construction brought Chinese workers by the thousands, whose descendants have enriched Vancouver ever since. Experience this interweaving of cultures in Chinatown, where the fusing of Oriental flavors with local seafood has helped earn the city the title, “the Culinary Capital of Canada.” After visiting Vancouver’s central highlights, ride the ferry to Granville Island. Stock up on provisions at the Granville Island Public Market and sample craft ales at Granville Island Brewing. From Granville Island, head to Queen Elizabeth Park on Little Mountain, a peaceful oasis high above the city. When it’s time to answer the call of the wild, cross the Lions Gate Bridge to The North Shore, a wilderness where bears roam and salmon-filled rivers flow through old-growth forests. Less than a two-hour drive from the city is Whistler Blackcomb Resort, the largest ski resort in North America. The beautifully connected runs here cater to all skill levels and attract elite skiers and beginners from all over the globe.

Check out some of the best hidden(ish) gems outside of Vancouver, BC: from taking the Sea to Sky Gondola, to kayaking in Deep Cove, North Vancouver and ending the day watching sunset at Whytecliff Park in West Vancouver. SUBSCRIBE AND FOLLOW OUR ADVENTURES - https://www.youtube.com/user/abritandabroad ✈✈✈ Vancouver, Canada has been named one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and it is a great deal to do with the fact that the mountains and ocean are right at it’s doorstep. Want to get out of the city? Easy. There is so much to see and do and while Macca was in town, Brianna took him to a few of her favourite hidden gems just outside the city. Deep Cove Kayak, located right in the small community of Deep Cove, on the North Shore, is a one stop, ocean sport shop. They rent kayaks and canoes, stand up paddle boards and surfskis as well as offer lessons and outings for all of it. Cruising the waters in this secluded bay is one of the most beautiful spots in North Vancouver. You can also paddle up Indian Arm and camp overnight if you want a longer journey. If you’re heading towards Whistler, you’ve got to stop at the Sea to Sky Gondola. The views speak for themselves. It’s a relaxing alternative to hiking up the Chief and once you’re at the top, you can walk across the suspension bridge, head to multiple look out points and enjoy a refreshment or two. The panoramic views of Howe Sound will stay with you for a while. Before the sun disappears, head to Whytecliff Park in West Vancouver. You will often see engagement or grad photo shoots going on because it is so picturesque at sunset. It’s a peaceful and secluded way to end the day.
